Energy Cost Calculator for UK Homes

As we become increasingly aware of our own carbon footprint, and seek for ways to reduce our energy bills, it can be handy to know how much energy our household appliances are using. Whether that is by vampire appliances left on that slowly suck the energy from the system e.g. wifi routers, or high usage appliances around the house that really make our smart meters or home energy monitor come to life e.g. microwave, hair-dryer or external security lights, it's good to understand their individual impact on our home energy bills and help us to both use and spend less.

So, below we've developed a handy little electricity cost calculator to help you see how much each item is costing to run each month. In addition to, we take this cost and run an energy price comparison to find you the best energy deal on the market and show how much you can save by switching supplier.

To use the cost of running a house calculator, simply select the item from those listed or enter the wattage of your specific item. The relevant fields will automatically update as you move through the tool to calculate your kilowatt hours (kwh) and use this against your existing electricity price per kwh resulting in an accurate view of the electricity costs associated with your chosen item.
